Buildings over 6 stories get their facade inspected every 5 years. The city calls it the Facade Inspection and Safety Program (FISP), or Local Law 11. When the inspecting engineer rates a facade unsafe, or SWARMP (safe for now, with repairs due), the owner has to hire a contractor.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from BuildDocket and other lead lists?
Three things lead lists don't do. First, we check whether a repair job is already filed with the city and keep those buildings off your picks. Second, we show the engineer who inspected each building, and an engineer map of who runs repair work near you and who has never hired you. Third, each building goes to no more than 5 contractors, one price covers all five boroughs, and we update twice a day.
What do “unsafe”, “SWARMP” and “fined” mean?
Unsafe: the inspecting engineer found conditions that put people at risk. The owner must put up protection and repair. SWARMP: safe for now, but repairs are due before the next inspection. Fined: the city issued a violation for not fixing unsafe conditions in time.
What is Local Law 126?
The city's parking garage law. An engineer inspects parking structures on a schedule, and garages rated unsafe need repairs. We include those, labeled “parking garage”.
Where does the data come from?
From the city's own records: facade inspection filings (FISP), Department of Buildings violations, job filings and permits, and HPD registrations. Every building links to its record.
How many contractors get the same building?
No more than 5. Firms whose past jobs are nearest get it first.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancel anytime from your account page before your trial ends and you pay nothing.
